Grows best in bright indirect light with some direct sun, like an East or West facing window

Water when the top 1/2 of the soil is dry - Fully saturate the soil - Mist regularly for optimal growth

Although this plant can tolerate low humidity it is best to mist your plant regularly, or place it above a dish with water to create a humid microclimate that it will thrive in.
Origin
Commonly called Chinese banyan, Malayan banyan or Indian laurel, Ficus Microcarpa is native to China, Southeast Asia and Australia. Well beloved for its medicinal properties, it is traditionally used to combat a fever or for pain relief and is is deemed sacred by Buddhists and Taoists. They thrive in tropical environments and are used to create shade due to their evergreen nature.
