care advice
A truly unique and spectacular houseplant, Oxalis is also known as False Shamrock, Purple Shamrock and Love Plant. Heart-shaped leaves meld in groups of three to create the illusion of beautiful butterflies huddled together. Oxalis love bright light, and open and close with the sun.

Grows best in medium to bright indirect light and is tolerant of low light - Avoid direct sun

Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil is dry - Water before fully drying out

Not Pet Friendly - Avoid ingesting

Sits 6-10" tall, in a 4" grow pot
Pro Tips
An excellent plant for the novice house plant enthusiast and tolerates a lot of neglect. If unhappy the Oxalis will go into dormancy and can be quickly revived with a little tender loving care. If an oxalis loses all its leaves, place in direct sun, and water when the top couple centimeters dry. It should bounce right back within a couple of weeks! Can be prone to scorching of the leaves that shows as white spots on the leaves. To solve this, simply move the plant into a light area but not in direct sunlight.
Origin
Can be found throughout the world but particularly common in Brazil, Mexico, and South Africa.
